Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment? We are seeking a dedicated Children Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team in Penrith.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments to determine the needs and risks of children and families.
  • Developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Caseload: 22-27 children (depending on family sizes). CiN, CP ,PLO and Care Proceedings.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams including health care professionals, educators, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Providing support and guidance to children and families, empowering them to make positive changes.
  • Advocating for the rights and best interests of children, ensuring they are heard and respected.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of interventions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration (SWE)
  • DBS on update service
  • Experience working within a children safeguarding or child protection team.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing a complex caseload with professionalism and compassion.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to child protection and safeguarding.
