Are you experienced in British Sign Lanuguage and able to ensure pupils with hearing impairments have full access to their education entitlement?We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) to join our team as soon as possible.This role involves working across two classes, supporting up to three children with varying communication needs. The position can be offered as a Temp-to-Perm (TTP) opportunity for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to children who use BSL as their primary mode of communication.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCO to deliver inclusive learning experiences.
  • Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a positive, nurturing environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Proficient in British Sign Language (minimum Level 2 preferred).
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across multiple classrooms.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and supporting every child to thrive.
