JOB TITLE: Business Support Officer
JOB LOCATION: Peterborough City
JOB TYPE: Temporary
JOB DURATION: 12 weeks with expectation of extension
JOB RATE: around 12-12.50 per hour plus holiday pay, but may go a little higher for someone with excellent experience
JOB WORKING HOURS: one role is working 37 hours per week, the other is working 18.5 hours per week
JOB WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: Working from home is available up to 3 days per week (if working full-time)
Your new company
We're very proud to be supporting some of the most important public services in Peterborough with these temp jobs. These are roles in the children's social services team, so please be aware that some people may find some of the cases and situations you deal with emotional.
Your new role
This job is to provide admin support to the team including arranging meetings, typing letters, formatting reports and taking minutes of public law outline meetings.
One job is full-time, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, and once you're set up and confident on systems and processes, you have the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
One job is to work 18.5 hours per week, but the team can be flexible on when those hours are worked and you will be able to work from home for some of your shifts too.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for applicants with experience of taking minutes at meetings, so anyone that has had a secretarial job will be fast-tracked.
Please note that some of the situations and cases that you might work on can be considered quite emotional for some people.
We're also looking for applicants who can start in the job fairly soon, so we can't wait for anyone who will have to give a months' notice.
Although these roles do include days when you can work from home, you will be required to work in the city centre offices weekly; there is parking very close which is available at a discounted rate as well as the offices being a short walk from the bus and train stations, but please bear in mind that if you live outside the greater Peterborough area, you will have to fund your own transport costs.
