Bennett and Game are currently looking for a proven Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join one of our longstanding clients who are a multi-award-winning manufacturing company that development and manufacture products for the medical and commercial industries based in Petersfield.



Senior Hardware Design Engineer Position Overview

  • Design and development of electronic hardware solutions that meet project specifications and adhere to all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead the hardware development process including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and prototyping.
  • Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and production engineers to ensure optimal integration of hardware with other system components.
  • Test theoretical designs, prototypes and analyse data.
  • Manage product verification and validation including creating and implementing test plans.
  • Maintain an appropriate working knowledge of medical standards including but not limited to IEC 60601-1 Ed 3; ISO 14971; IEC 62366; ISO 62304; ISO 13485 & FDA guidelines CFR 21.


Senior Hardware Design Engineer Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 2:2 Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in electronic hardware design and development, experience in a senior role an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design, and experience with microcontroller-based products.
  • Proficient in design tools such as CADStar or equivalent for PCB design and schematic capture.
  • Experience in the medical devices sector or other regulated industries like defence or aerospace, which will be highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) and IoT technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of quality and health and safety in the workplace, working to quality, health and safety, and Company procedures and processes.


Senior Hardware Design Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Salary £48-58k DOE.
  • Pension - Company contributes 5% to pension, employee contributes minimum of 3% (qualifying period 3 months).
