This role is seeking a self-starter, a great team player, and someone with experience in a busy accounts department to join the thriving and established finance team in Plymouth. This role is integral to the multi-faceted group of companies, which are at the forefront of the services they provide and have a commitment to environmental impacts by achieving a net zero status.
Day to Day of the role:
- Complete management accounts and all balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work with operational teams to establish accrued and deferred income and work-in-progress.
- Post payroll journals and prepare & submit VAT returns.
- Handle Construction Industry Scheme returns and credit card postings.
- Manage customer and supplier retentions.
- Liaise with year-end accountants/auditors and complete requests.
- Post year-end adjustments to ensure statutory accounts reconcile with management accounts.
- Manage the corporation tax position and provide business analysis.
- Assist with month-end reporting and payment runs.
- Support credit control if required.
- Provide support across the finance function in a growing business.
- Perform any other duties as required.
- AAT Level 3 or above/equivalent with 3+ years sector/role experience.
- Self-starter and great team player with good communication skills.
- Office based on-site in Plymouth - NO hybrid options.
- Experience working in NetSuite or a similar business package.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience working in a busy accounts department.
