Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, initially for a period of 6 months, with the opportunity for extension for an additional 12 months. This position requires an individual who is well-versed in quality assurance practices, particularly within the nuclear or dockyard industry sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Inspection Test Plans (ITPS): Develop and execute Inspection Test Plans to assess the quality of materials, components, and processes used in projects.
  3. Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR): Maintain and update Lifetime Quality Records to track the quality history of products and ensure traceability throughout their lifecycle.
  4. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant quality standards, procedures, and specifications, including those specific to the nuclear industry.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the quality management system.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and quality assurance personnel, to address quality-related issues and drive resolution.
  7. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation to record quality metrics, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in the nuclear industry or dockyard environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing Inspection Test Plans (ITPS) and maintaining Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Additional Details:

  • The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with one day per week spent offsite (Friday) and an early finish at 3 PM on Thursdays.
  • Hourly rate for this role is competitive, supplemented with additional expenses such as hotel costs.
  • Payments are processed on a monthly basis, ensuring consistency and predictability in compensation.
  • Need to be a British passport holder.
