Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their client, a leading manufacturer, in Plymouth. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that their products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. With your mechanical engineering background, you will bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to their quality control processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining quality standards and specifications, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any quality issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. Your attention to detail and strong analytical skills will be key in ensuring that their products meets their customers' expectations.

As their Senior Quality Engineer, you will also be involved in training and mentoring Junior Engineers and Quality Control Personnel. Your extensive knowledge and experience in the field of quality engineering will be invaluable in developing the skills of their team members and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define quality standards and specifications for their products
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify any quality issues
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance their quality control processes
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Train and mentor Junior Engineers and Quality Control Personnel
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues
  • Utilise your mechanical engineering background to provide technical expertise in quality control processes

Qualifications:

  • A HNC in an engineering discipline, all the better if it's from a mechanical engineering background!
  • Operational experience of SPC, AQP and PPAP processes
  • Experience or knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
