Principal Civil/ Structural Engineer

Our client is working to create a safe and secure world and, if you join them, you can play your part as a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer. You will be trusted to undertake projects through the entire project lifecycle, from initial scheme and concept design, right through to eventual decommissioning. This is particularly unique within a consultancy environment and what makes their projects and work so rewarding.
The role:
- Leading role within a dynamic design team undertaking traditional, bespoke and innovative designs.
- Design loading scenarios, including seismic design.
- You will provide technical leadership and expertise, taking on the role of Technical Lead on specific projects when required.
- Delivery of Nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas.
- Concept and Feasibility studies for multi discipline design projects.
- Analysis and Design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot as well as producing hand calculations.
- Prepare Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, Inter discipline design coordination and supervision.
- Be responsible for the management of project delivery, as well as people management of Senior CS&A Engineers and CS&A Engineers.
About you:
- Degree Qualified (BEng or MEng), Civil / Structural Engineer
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IStructE or working towards.
- Significant experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
- Awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards. Understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
