Environmental Compliance Manager

Role Summary:

Join a crucial role aimed at managing the compliance of all environmental, planning, permitting, and waste aspects of our business. This role is pivotal to our expansion plans, ensuring adherence to regulations as we grow our operations. As our business expands, so will the responsibilities of this role, encompassing more sites and activities.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Evaluate compatibility of new opportunities with our operations against planning and permitting regulations.
  • Manage all applications and variations to the Environment Agency (EA) and Local Planning Authority (LPA) and associated inquiries.
  • Oversee planning and permitting contractors, such as LVIA and noise assessment contractors.
  • Implement and manage the Integrated ISO Management System to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support stakeholder management initiatives, especially community engagement.

Necessary Requirements:

  • 5 years+ Experience in submitting applications to the EA and LPAs.
  • WAMITAB holder for waste transfer stations (HAZ Preferred) & Landfill.
  • Experience in submitting applications for heavy industrial applications.
  • Experience with managing contractors and collaborating with other teams.
  • Demonstrable record of implementing integrated management systems such as PAS 99, ISO 14001 & 9001.
  • Full Driving License.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Protection or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (MCIWM).
  • Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (PIEMA).
  • Managing Safely – Institution of Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent.
  • Environmental Legislation & Waste Awareness or equivalent.
