This role is seeking a self-starter, a great team player, and someone with experience in a busy accounts department to join the thriving and established finance team in Plymouth. This role is integral to the multi-faceted group of companies, which are at the forefront of the services they provide and have a commitment to environmental impacts by achieving a net zero status.
Day to Day of the role:
- Working with the operational teams to establish accrued and deferred income and work-in-progress
- Posting payroll journals
- Preparation & submission of VAT returns
- Credit card postings
- Managing customer and supplier retentions
- Supervision and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. These functions are largely self-sufficient although there may be limited occasions where direct assistance is required in preparing payment runs, etc.
- Liaising with year-end accountants/auditors and completing requests
- Posting of year-end adjustments to Netsuite to ensure statutory accounts reconcile with management accounts
- Management of the corporation tax and VAT position
- Management of the intercompany position for cash flow forecasting and treasury management
- Providing business analysis and assisting with month-end reporting
- Providing support as required across the finance function in a growing business
- Line management of 4 x direct reports (plus 1 x indirect report)
- ICAB or equivalent or QBE Bookkeeper/AAT Level 3 or above/equivalent with 3+ years sector/role experience.
- Self-starter and great team player with good communication skills.
- Office based on-site in Plymouth - NO hybrid options.
- Experience working in NetSuite or a similar business package.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience working in a busy accounts department.
