iO Associates seeks a Senior Cisco Network Engineer to work with our client in Plymouth area. They are a prominent global entity in the information and communications technology solutions and services sector.

As a Network Engineer, you will assist our customer in supporting their secure operational network, managing and resolving incidents on secure military systems.

Job Title: Senior Cisco Network Engineer

Location: Plymouth, UK

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £57k per annum

Active DV Clearance required.

Required:

  • Expert in installing, configuring, deploying, maintaining, and diagnosing CISCO network devices and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Level 3 LAN and WAN support for core services.
  • Skilled in network support, design change recommendations, and updating design documentation.

In-depth understanding of:

  • CISCO Nexus, IOS XE, Switch, and CUBE; AAA Management Platforms (e.g., ISE)
  • QOS (Traffic Shaping, Policing, Scheduling)
  • NATO Gateways, Routers, switches, firewalls (Firewall IPS/IDS, ACL-ASA Firewall)
  • OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree, VoIP

Responsibilities:

  • Provide L3 network engineering support for LAN and WAN across all security domains.
  • Manage and resolve incidents escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams.
  • Own and troubleshoot network problems and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure dependable and experienced support to maintain live systems.
  • Collaborate with remotely based support resources to address and resolve issues.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service by managing and resolving complex network issues.
