This Electro-mechanical Engineer is to work in a support capacity, liaising closely with design, manufacturing, internal sales and purchasing to provide knowledge of electrically biased, electro-mechanical engineering to help troubleshoot, design, modify and provide technical support of flameproof and safety equipment used in hazardous environments.

A varied role, requiring someone with a skill set covering PCB boards through to electrical test equipment, encompassing CAD design skills and new product testing, you will be the "go to" person for helping understand problems and finding solutions for manufacturing and customer requirements.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the design and manufacturing of small electro-mechanical products.
  • Shopfloor support for the assembly and test of products.
  • Assist the internal sales team in providing technical support for resolution of customer queries.
  • Item creation and BOM maintenance on the ERP system.
  • Provide the purchasing team technical support for alternative parts.
  • New product testing.
  • Electrical test equipment design, build and maintenance.
  • Creation of product support documentation. (wiring diagrams, test instructions etc.)
  • Maintenance of product CAD models, drawings, and wiring diagrams

Essential:

  • Technical qualification of HNC or above
  • Proven problem solver with an analytical approach to fault diagnosis
  • Practical experience of root cause analysis
  • Proven relevant experience in a technical role in manufacturing.
  • Good communication skills with ability to write technical instructions and documents.
  • Strong technical acumen with the desire to make a significant improvement to product and process.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with excellent Excel skills.
  • Competent creator of drawings and wiring diagrams in 2D CAD software.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude to job role.
  • Confidence to use initiative when required.
