Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team and ensure the smooth running of their production process.
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the shift and all direct staff, ensuring that all products are produced to specified specifications, and enforcing the company's Health & Safety procedures. Additionally, you will support the business in continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all production lines are run at their target speed or faster.
- Take full responsibility for the shift, including staff management, production and quality targets, and the overall smooth running of the production process.
- Monitor, measure, and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain quality control by adhering to the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures.
- Enforce Health & Safety rules and regulations, addressing any related matters using available resources and in line with company policies.
- Assist in generating risk assessments and drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
- Utilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and facilitate prompt resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with other Shift Supervisors to ensure effective production handovers.
- Possess a good working knowledge of the Blow moulding and non-liner production areas.
- Ensure all production staff have the necessary skills to deliver the production plan and work safely, including training and development opportunities.
- Manage timekeeping and ensure smooth transition to the following shift.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement plan, maintaining housekeeping standards, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and driving waste reduction.
Person Specification:
- Personality: We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and self-driven individual with a positive "can-do" outlook. You should be highly organized, forward-thinking, and possess excellent communication skills.
- Personal Situation: You must be able to commute reliably to our client's factory in Plymouth and work extended hours when necessary. Flexibility in working shifts and attending meetings is essential. Punctuality is of the utmost importance.
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a high mass volume manufacturing environment, preferably as a Shift Supervisor or in an equivalent capacity.
