Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement social, emotional, and mental health programs and activities for students, including group counselling, peer support, and mentoring initiatives.
  • Monitor student progress and provide individualized support to those struggling with emotional or mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a safe and inclusive school climate that promotes respect, understanding, and acceptance among all students.
  • Support teachers in integrating social, emotional, and mental health education into the curriculum and classroom practices.
  • Liaise with parents and caregivers to provide information and resources about social, emotional, and mental health topics and support available for their children.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in social, emotional, and mental health support for students.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with students and establish trust.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments.
