Position Overview
- Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Secondary school, Plymouth
- Days: 5 days a week
- Salary: £85 per day
Responsibilities
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support Students: Work closely with students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, providing guidance and encouragement.
- Boosting Confidence: Your encouragement and guidance will empower students to reach their full potential. Whether it’s helping them overcome obstacles or celebrating their achievements, you’ll make a lasting impact.
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and create a safe and respectful classroom environment.
- Collaborate: Work alongside teachers, parents, and other staff members to develop individualised learning plans.
- Assist in Classroom Management: Help maintain order in the classroom, ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Provide Emotional Support: Be a compassionate listener and mentor for students facing behavioural challenges.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is desirable.
- Patience and Empathy: A genuine interest in supporting students’ emotional well-being.
- Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and parents.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to different student needs and situations.
