Job Title: General Manager Local Bistro & Bar

Location: Pontefract

Salary: Circa £35,000 + Bonus + Tips/Tronc

Were a popular, growing local bistro and bar in Pontefract, known for our warm atmosphere, great food, and quality drinks. As a key part of the local community, were passionate about providing a relaxed, welcoming experience for every guest. With exciting plans for continued growth, were now looking for a talented and driven General Manager to lead the team and help shape the next stage of our journey.

The Role:

• Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring excellent service, efficient operations, and a happy, motivated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership and make your mark on a thriving, well-loved local business.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, inspire, and manage the team to deliver outstanding service.
• Oversee all aspects of operations including service standards, stock control, and financial performance.
• Drive sales and profitability while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Recruit, train, and develop team members to reach their full potential.
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Represent the business with pride and professionalism at all times.

About You:

• Experienced manager with a background in bars, restaurants, or hospitality venues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
• Commercially aware and confident managing budgets and KPIs.
• Passionate about food, drink, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Organised, proactive, and hands-on in your approach.
• Eager to be part of a growing business where your input really matters.
