Here at Bournemouth and Poole Collegewe are looking to recruit a new Lecturer in Law on a full-time basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £27,545 - £38,056 (per annum, pro rata)

The Lecturer in Law Role

As a Lecturer in Law, youwill deliver high quality and effective teaching, learning and assessment to Science, Access & Health students at Bournemouth and Poole College within the Science, Health & Humanities curriculum area.

The Science Study Programmes are BTEC/WJEC Applied Psychology, Criminology & Law. Adults follow the Access to HE Humanities, as well as other Access pathways. The post holder will need to teach Law to these programmes. The post holder may also act as a personal tutor to students.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Law will include:

  • Contributing to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study programme delivery.
  • Contributing to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
  • Ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Managing student issues within agreed protocols.
  • Creating learner portfolios to agreed target standards and ensure they are submitted on time.
  • Demonstrating efficient and effective operation of the teaching and assessment process in line with College policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives
  • Managing and maintaining learner folders in line with audit requirements.

As our Lecturer in Law, you'll ideally have:

  • Teaching Qualification. All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain this Qualification within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
  • All applicants must be able to provide evidence of a Level 2 Qualification in English and Mathematics, or be willing to undertake the Qualification whilst in post, within two years.
  • Degree in Law or related subject, and/or Professional Qualification, which is appropriate for the role.
  • Experience of facilitating learning for students in Further or Higher Education or an appropriate workplace setting.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults legislation
