GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Support Worker (SW) to join our team in Poole. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in achieving their full potential and enhancing their educational experience.

About the School

The school is an education setting based for 16 – 25+ years old with Special Educational Needs. It is based on 350 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside. The school operate enterprise activities and vocational teaching methods to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people and adults with SEN in Dorset and the local area. The school focuses on vocations like horticulture, agriculture, equine skills and animal care as well as many more, to enrich the lives and education of its pupils. 

What You’ll Be Doing

As an SEN Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in delivering personalised support to students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one assistance to students in classroom activities and personal development.
  • Encouraging participation in school life and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Implementing and adapting individualised educational plans.
  • Promoting dignity, respect, and inclusivity in all interactions.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating progress with staff and families.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and educational psychologists.
  • Making use of the school’s specialist facilities to enhance student support.
  • Participating in enrichment activities that build confidence and independence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a similar role or in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for education and student development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development (desirable).
