The Recruitment Co. are currently recruiting for A Payroll Officer to join our clients manufacturing team based in the Port talbot area.


Contract: Permanent
Salary: £28,000p.a
Working hours: Full time Monday to Friday: 8.30am-5pm


Responsible to/for: The Financial Accountant. To be the principal contact for all payroll related activity, working effectively with the Management team and other colleagues to achieve the Company's mission and strategic aims


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collating information from the Time and Attendance system - hours worked, overtime, sickness absence etc
  • Payment of all wages and salaries, correctly applying the appropriate pay rates, shift premiums, overtime rates and sick pay policy
  • To maintain accurate and timely payroll records
  • To demonstrate and communicate best practices in payroll management
  • Processing starter/leaver details and bank details
  • Respond to pay queries
  • General office administration (including occasional switchboard cover)


Qualifications, education and essential skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of processing payroll and using payroll software
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Able to manage your time and day-to-day responsibilities
  • Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, solutions-focused and resilient
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability at problem solving and logical thinking
  • Confidence in the analysis of numerical data with the requisite attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to relate to managers and colleagues
