Job Title: HGV Mechanic TechnicianLocation: Margam, Port TalbotSalary: £45k to £50k plus shift allowancePertemps is currently hiring an HGV Mechanic Technician for our client, the largest supplier of industrial gases and related equipment in the UK. The successful candidate will support the workshop team, ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of all vehicles and trailers at the site's workshop.This position is a permanent position, and they provide a brilliant benefits package which includes:

You'll work in a well-equipped workshop, ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations and your responsibilities will include:

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults for HGV vehicles and cryogenic systems.
Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance.
Perform safety checks and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Liaise with external technician providers and other bodies such as DAF, ATS and Michelin.
Carry out recording and allocation of parts and their costs.
Collaborate with other team members to maintain efficient operations.
Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

Key Qualifications and experience

HGV Licence (C+E) with no more than 3 penalty points
Driver CPC and Tachograph
ADR Licence is desirable but can be trained to gain qualification.
Experience and knowledge of the LGV Tester Manual
Experience working as an HGV mechanic or technician.
Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with vehicle systems.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
