Sea & Air Freight Operator
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: up to 32,000 + Benefits
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Hybrid working available after probation)
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading freight forwarding and logistics business that has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality transport solutions across Europe and beyond. Following continued growth, they are now looking to expand their Sea & Air department with an experienced Sea & Air Freight Operator.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proven background in sea and air freight to join a dynamic and supportive team, with the chance to contribute to the growth of a key business division.
Air and Ocean Freight Coordinator
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of sea and air services, ensuring the smooth relay of information between customers, partners, and subcontractors. Duties include:
- Arranging import and export movements via sea and air (FCL, LCL, cross-trade).
- Liaising with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas partners, and agents.
- Providing accurate updates to customers and ensuring smooth transit.
- Quoting for new business and negotiating rates with carriers and clients.
- Processing export documentation (bills of lading, air waybills, certificates of origin, etc.).
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers.
- Updating transport software and ensuring accurate records.
- Supporting insurance claim processes where required.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in sea and air exports.
- Previous experience with imports and export documentation.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, proactive approach.
