Your Company:A successful and forward-thinking manufacturing business is searching the market for a Junior Tool Maker to join their growing team within the Portsmouth area. This business has been experiencing a stable period of expansion and success in recent years and have grown their customer reach to a global level, and cover various industries such as aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, medical and consumer electronics.Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Regularly checking and monitoring the tools that the business uses on the manufacturing line and also the machinery, to ensure efficiency and to highlight proactively any repairs that are needed and suggest improvements where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that all issues and queries are reported and recorded accurately and in a timely manner, providing recorded updates to situations as needed.
  • Using the provided variety of instruments, which may include gauges, micrometres and vernier callipers to check the dimensions of the tools that are used.
  • At all times, making sure that work is conducted and competed to a high standard, within the set-out time frame and that is complies with any regulations set out for quality control and standards.
What you will need to Apply:The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced in working within a similar relevant role, within the manufacturing sector, in a fast-paced environment. Ideally an Engineering degree, qualification or equivalent accreditation would be possessed as well. Candidates should have prior experience using relevant engineering equipment, including grinders amongst other items. Excellent communication skills are required, both in verbal and written forms, alongside strong attention to detail. In this role the successful candidate will be working both independently and within a team and therefore the company is expecting any applicants to have competency with both methods of working.  What you will get in Return:For the successful candidate a rewards package including a base salary of up to £25,000 depending on previous experience and relevant qualifications will be on offer alongside additional benefits which will include a competitive holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays and additional time off at Christmas and a strong pension scheme.
