  • Responsibilities:
    • Advise and assist Operations Director in H&S
    • Lead on programmes and new initiatives
    • Develop and implement H&S strategies
    • Manage accidents and investigations
    • Travel to UK sites as required

    • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and assist the Operations Director in the planning, organising, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
  • To act as the subject matter expert on all H&S matters
  • Leadership and management of the H&S function
  • To assist the company in establishing objectives and targets to aid continuous improvement
  • Lead on programmes of work and new initiatives across health and safety.
  • Development and full compliance throughout the facility of Health, Safety and Environmental policies and processes
  • To take a leading role in maintaining the highest possible standards of Health and Safety
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and promote a safe working environment
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant Manuals, Procedures, Instructions, and Risk Assessments are relevant
  • Develop and deliver H&S training programmes
  • Ensure all Safe Systems of Work are in place and reviewed
  • Management and investigation of all accidents on site, compiling accident statistics and carrying out thorough corrective and preventative plans.
  • Control any/all COSHH files/reports on site
  • Oversee control of the Risk register
  • Position the Company to implement ISO 14001 accreditation
  • Carry out internal audits
  • Travel around all UK sites as required
  • Produce monthly reports and KPIs

Education

  • Chartered status of IOSH
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills, with good problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent understanding of HSE regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A balanced decision maker with the ability to assess cost verses benefit alongside risk and probability.
  • A proactive individual with a 'can do’ attitude.
  • Demonstrable evidence of leading H&S culture change
  • Evidence of leading H&S in a previous role in a management position
  • Solid HSE management experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Experience dealing with issues relating to HSE swiftly and effectively
  • Experience of maintaining an accredited - ISO 14001
  • Experience of delivering IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
  • Experience working with remote sites and teams
  • Strong in relationship building and collaboration with all levels of staff
  • Good organisational, time and project management skills
