About the Role:

The Quantity Surveyors responsibilities involve maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Recording and monitoring variations to the contacts and ascertaining the costs involved to maximize planned gross profit.

Day to day tasks are as follows (but not limited to):

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Undertake cost analysis for project work.
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control.
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
  • Place orders with Sub-contractors and control all commercial aspects relating to subcontractor management.
  • Assist with advice on contractual claims.
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
  • Value completed work and arrange invoicing.
  • Assist in the monthly measurement of supplier KPI's and reporting.
  • Provide robust, timely and accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels and their progress in relation to the programme schedule.
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience and knowledge of NEC 3/NEC 4 and other standard terms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to act as an effective team member
  • PC literate, confident understanding of MS office packages
