Senior Development Chemist required on a permanent basis, based in Lancashire. Requiring proven industrial experience of development/formulation, ideally within materials and/or the construction industry. Senior/leadership responsibilities are highly desirable.

SRG are working with a family-run business who are a leading manufacturer specialising in the development and production of construction products. They are now continuing their growth and expansion and are seeking to hire a Senior Development Chemist to join their technical team. This role will play a crucial part in continuing the development of both new and existing products, deputising for and making decisions in the absence of the Laboratory Manager, and supporting in the continued commissioning of brand-new plant and manufacturing facilities. Candidates with proven industrial experience of developing products within the materials/construction industry are encouraged to apply, with senior/leadership responsibilities highly desirable.

Benefits: You will join a family-run business at an exciting time in their growth and expansion. Training can be provided for the product range. 30 days holiday including bank holidays, with additional time off over the Christmas period and workplace pension.

Working hours: 7:30am - 4pm, Monday to Thursday and 7:30am - 2:00pm Friday.

Role/Description

  • Supporting in the development of both new and existing products
  • Supporting and deputising for the Laboratory Manager when needed
  • Making decisions on formulations and processes as and when needed
  • Supporting the wider technical team with customer trials, support and complaints
  • Testing new and existing raw materials for formulation work

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Proven industrial experience of development formulation work within the materials sector and/or construction products
  • Senior/leadership responsibilities is highly desirable
  • Effective time management and attention to detail
