Reed Education is seeking a dynamic MFL Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster on a full-time, long-term basis starting immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering engaging MFL lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, and potentially KS5.
  • Preparing lesson plans, materials, and activities that align with curriculum standards.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing feedback to improve learning outcomes.
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school’s language department.
  • Participating in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching MFL at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience being advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and able to demonstrate the qualities of a good role model such as compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, and patience when working with children.
