I'm looking for multiple Principal Mechanical Engineers to join a leading Nuclear Services organisation based in Preston, Lancashire.

This is a hybrid-working role of 3 days per week required onsite and you MUST be eligible for security clearance (SC) to be considered.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is maintained throughout design lifecycle.

  • Day-to-day, you'll promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams.
  • Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress.
  • Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
  • Ensure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriately.
  • Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned.
  • This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
  • Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Nuclear experience is not a necessity, we welcome applications from all engineering backgrounds.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Holds or has the ability to obtain Chartered status.

The salary is £57,000 to £75,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
