Primary function of the role is to foster relationships with existing wholesale/cash & carry accounts and drive brand awareness and retail sales through those accounts. Grow the territory by developing current accounts, educating the retailer network on the IVG brand and portfolio to close and transfer profitable sales through those accounts by attending trade days and servicing the wholesale network.

Job description

- Be a positive, efficient and proactive member of the Commercial team, effectively working interdepartmentally to achieve targets, deadlines and drive growth .

- Be the best possible ‘face’ of the company and the first point of contact for the customer to represent and instill our expert status.

- Receive and process sales orders, verifying information and payment details.

- Identify and capitalise on sales opportunities on all in-bound and out-bound calls.

- Up-sell/cross-sell/intro new products and promotions through in-bound and out-bound calls.

- Support field sales activity and Sales unit managers.

- Prepare sales proposals and presentations.

- Assist the demand planner with up-coming stock requirements and forecasts

- Build and maintain relationships with all the customers through their site buyers, managers, area managers, and regional managers.

- Gain feedback and disseminate or escalate interdepartmentally as required

- Carry out any customer service requirements, checking the Dispatch tracker, tracking parcels to ensure timely delivery, resolving any shortages, damages or complaints efficiently.

- Liaise with Finance to ensure credits etc. are dealt with efficiently.

- Liaise between warehouse/production and customers to expedite orders.

- Liaise with Marketing to ensure delivery of POS or promo and campaign materials.

- Compile data and propose auto replenishment to the customers’ sites where feasible to optimize stock, sales, penetration and market share.

- Monitor the market, reporting any competitor activity and trends.

- Generate sales reports, communicating the figures to management, along with general administration.

- Ambassador for company values and customer service excellence.

- Understand the products and offer advice and explanation where required.

- Have the ability to assess key priorities and plan work accordingly, with effective time management.

- Work interdepartmentally to facilitate communication and productivity at all times.

ROLE REQUIREMENT:

- Graduate or equivalent level

- Experience working in sales and/or marketing

- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

- Excellent grammar and writing skills.

- A great communicator both verbally and written.

- Solution led approach.

- Highly numerate

- Pro-active, detailed approach to tasks with the ability to use own initiative.

- Strong team player

- Energy, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude are a must.
