We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for an ’Outstanding' Secondary School in the Preston area. This is a full-time temporary position, covering 5 days per week from 08:30 to 15:30. The role commences after the May half-term and continues until the end of July. Qualified Teacher Status and a strong background in teaching Science at KS3/4 are essential for this position.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Preparing, planning, and delivering high-quality Science lessons to ensure the continuous development of pupils.
  • Marking and monitoring classwork, alongside setting targets for future progress.
  • Establishing and developing strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and carers.
  • Having a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils.
  • Monitoring pupils’ progress in line with the school’s practices.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have recent relevant experience of teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and able to work well with students, demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
