We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Preston. This is a flexible role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right individual.
About the Role
As an SEN TA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, including:
Dyslexia
Autism (ASD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Sensory impairments
Physical disabilities
Speech, language and communication difficulties
Emotional or behavioural challenges
You will provide both 1:1 support and small group interventions, adapting your approach to meet individual learning and behavioural needs. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support students in accessing the curriculum and developing key life skills
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies
Encourage independence, confidence, and progress in learning
Manage behaviour effectively and promote positive choices
