SEND Lecturer

Reed FE are working with a forward-thinking Further Education college in Lancashire, committed to empowering all students to achieve their full potential.

As an SEND Tutor, you’ll play a vital role in delivering tailored educational support to learners with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences.

You’ll work collaboratively with curriculum teams, support staff, and external agencies to create inclusive learning experiences that inspire confidence, independence, and success.

What we’re looking for:

  • UK recognised teaching degree such as PGCE or Level 5 equivalent
  • Previous experience with students who have sensory impairment, Autism and or communication difficulties
  • Previous experience with students who have severe and/or complex learning difficulties
  • Multi-disciplinary working experience
  • Experience of behaviour management strategies and individual learning plans

Day to Day of the role;

  • Plan and deliver individualised curriculums based on each student’s programme of study
  • Work with non-teaching staff, to assess, record and report students’ progression
  • Connect with students’ parents, carers and involved authorities, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with managers, other teaching staff and learning support staff to plan periodic topics, programmes of study, teaching materials and pastoral care
  • Liaise with residential staff on potential learning opportunities with home settings, where appropriate
  • Support staff with personal care and feeding the students when required

Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by undergoing a 2 year’ employment check and a DBS Application, completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
