Sous Chef

The Thornhill is a historic pub built over 350 years ago now offering a mix of traditional and modern dishes. All our food is home cooked and made with love. We pride ourselves on quality ingredients and tasty recipies. Due to having recently won an award and a steadliy increasing footfall we are looking to expand our offering.

We are lucky enough to have a private dining room which is the ideal place for an out of town bistro dining experience. We are also looking to start brunches which on taster sessions have proved extremely popular due to the addition of our outdoor farmers market, where we also sell some of our famous offerings to take away. 

We remain a family run business which I believe makes us unique and sets us apart from the rest. We invest in our staff and as such have a very low staff turnover. We recognise talent and we reward hard work & loyalty. Personality is key to us. We have a family in our staff and we would need the right fit to join our team.

The positon is around 45 hours per week 5 days per week. Shifts may change week on week but weekends are our busiest times and candidates would be required to work these.

Holiday pay included at stardard allowance. Family staff discount on food. We do not open Christmas Day for food and never will!

Salary is negotiable dependant on the level of experience. Please note we would consider commis chef level for the right person and an eagerness to learn. However, 1 years chef experience is required.
