SEND Support Worker - West Leeds
Position: SEND Learning Support Assistant (Primary School)
Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Location: Pudsey
Start Date: ASAP or September
Salary: £90-£100 per day
Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated SEND Support Worker to join on of our primary schools on a full-time basis. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a student with autism who exhibits challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to a student with autism.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
- Establish and maintain good boundaries to support the child's development.
- Foster a caring and nurturing environment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the student and their family.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure the student's needs are met.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviour is advantageous.
- A caring and nurturing nature with the ability to set good boundaries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
