We are looking for a Colour & Technical Manager
Based in the Croydon area.
Job Summary: As a Colour & Technical Manager, you will provide technical guidance and manage artwork and repro production services. You will oversee the technical development of new designs, ensuring files meet printer requirements and client expectations. Collaborating with Client Service, Design, Artwork, and printers, you will offer efficient technical solutions and ensure effective repro implementation. The role is a balance of production and management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical consultancy for packaging repro and print.
- Support Design and Artwork teams with technical file setups.
- Conduct pre-production assessments and create technical briefs.
- Approve artwork and repro against technical briefs.
- Resolve print challenges and ensure print quality.
- Optimize value and color harmonization using PQM technologies.
- Lead pre-production meetings to confirm technical briefs.
- Manage production and proofing of packaging repro and artwork.
- Support the Operations Director in color management strategy.
- Contribute to the improvement of color management tools and software.
Management Responsibilities:
- Provide internal technical support and training to various departments.
- Ensure full utilisation of Esko tools and auto trapping in artwork.
Proofing Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the color proofing and profiling service.
- Maintain and calibrate Epson devices and update profiles.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of packaging artwork and repro experience.
- 5+ years in color management or similar technical roles.
- Expert knowledge of FMCG packaging, Adobe Creative Suite, and Esko production tools.
- Experience with packaging artwork file printability.
- Excellent attention to detail, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
