Dispensary Technician (Chemical Research)

A leading chemical company dedicated to cutting-edge research and development is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Dispensary Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the chemical industry and eager to contribute to their innovative projects.

This is initially one year contract which will be potentially extended or become permanent.

Responsibilities:

  • The dispensing of research chemical and biological samples for testing on Syngenta biological and biochemical platforms.
  • Support the receipt and management of new incoming research samples, and chemical reagents from internal and external sources. The dispensing of dry chemical samples and the solubilization and reformatting of samples into micro titre plate format supplied to scientists for testing on biological test platforms.
  • To process and track customer requests competently using the IT tools available.
  • To efficiently process incoming new chemistry and reagent samples
  • To ensure compliance with HSE standards, protocols and relevant regulations, and proactivity in the reporting of incidents, near misses and safety related observations.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail is essential, as is a concern for high standards, and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good standard of IT literacy is required to utilize software systems, database querying and reporting tools, and the effective use of lab LIMS systems.
  • Experience in liquid handling automation systems would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
  • A Levels or a degree in life science (preferably Chemistry or Biology) and/or experience of working in a relevant environment and industry.
