Role: Senior Contracts Manager
Salary/Rate: £ 81 per hr (inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid multiple locations
Contract Duration: 12 months
We are currently looking for a Senior Contracts Manager for our government client. This Senior Contracts Manager role is hybrid, based between approx. 1 day per week on site and the remainder of the week working remotely. The on-site location will start in the Reading area and later provide the option to change to central London, as preferred.
The contract for the Senior Contracts Manager position is for 12-months with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.
Security Clearance: eligible for Security Check ('SC Clearance')
This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.
Essential skills/experience required:
- Post contract management experience
- Has previously managed Professional Services Contracts
- Very experienced with NEC to support junior staff
- CEMAR or similar contract management system experience
- Stakeholder Management
- Communication skills
- Strategic experience
- Leadership/coaching/mentoring
- Public sector experience desirable
Role/Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver post contract management of critical contracts with the supply chain. The Senior Contract Manager will have an in-depth understanding of business requirements for the assigned areas and will be motivated to drive value for money, applying industry leading contract management techniques to mitigate commercial risk.
- Creating a highly motivated, skilled, and professional contract management team that delivers contract performance outcomes, aligned to business and HMG commercial requirements, with the capacity to meet business demand plan.
- Act as subject matter expert for assigned contracts, providing professional advice to enable business to effectively deliver contract objectives.
- Ensure contracts are delivered in accordance with business management system, priorities and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation.
- Implement the Supplier Relationship Management framework for assigned key suppliers who have a significant impact on the business, with the objective of managing risk, managing performance, and extracting more value from the supplier base.
- Support procurement activity through providing best practice contact advice to develop contract templates and bespoke terms.
- Ensuring contracts maximise value for money and have defined performance outcomes.
- Working with the SCM Delivery Unit Sourcing/Category team to lead contract negotiations pre-contract award and apply lessons learned to enhance contracting models and support supplier selection.
- Leading contract negotiations and apply diplomacy to mitigate contract risks to company benefit and where necessary develop contract litigation strategies
- Implementing the Supplier Relationship Management framework and strategy for defined portfolio of contracts, creating trusted industry alliances to drive business innovation/efficiencies and developing optimum systems of business intelligence and relationships.
