Job Title: Traffic Marshal

Location: Reading, United Kingdom

Randstad is looking for a reliable Traffic Marshal to work for a reputable construction company based in Reading, dedicated to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. Suitable candidates must hold a DBS and be willing to go through standard security checks.

Position Overview: As a Traffic Marshal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic around construction sites in Reading. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the safety of both pedestrians and vehicles, coordinating traffic movements and communicating effectively with site personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing vehicles and pedestrians safely around the construction site.
  • Implementing traffic management plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Monitoring and controlling access points to the site.
  • Communicating with drivers and site personnel via radio or hand signals.
  • Assisting in the coordination of deliveries and vehicle movements.
  • Responding promptly to any emergencies or incidents on-site.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements:

  • Valid Traffic Marshal certification.
  • Hold a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required.
