One of our long standing internal fit out contractor clients company looking for an are seekinga full time enthusiastic Assistant Commercial Manager (AQS) with a background in quantity surveying to aid in the commercial administration of MOD and Government lead projects across the south being based from their modern offices near Reading.

This is a great opportunity to join an ever growing commercial team to support the business and deliver large projects under budget.

As an Assistant Commercial Manager (AQS), you will be reporting to the Commercial Lead and working closely to maintain a dynamic project, successfully administering and delivering the contract.

Key Responsibilities & Day-to-Day:

  • Aid in change control, reviewing and quoting Compensation Events.
  • Support in the application and cost reporting processes.
  • Assist with monthly payment certification for subcontractors.
  • Reviewing, understanding and distributing contract notifications
  • Aiding the commercial team with main contract and sub-contract administration.
  • Collate and review site records for commercial impact.
  • Updating and keeping scope information current to aid the wider operations team.
  • Support the commercial team with estimating for future works. Completing take-offs and producing a bill of quantity documents.
  • Review any applicable invoices and correctly allocate costs
  • NEC contract administration

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate holds a formal qualification in quantity surveying
  • Ideally 1-2years experience working in a commercial role in the construction industry or someone new qualified would be considered.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office especially excel.
  • Knowledge and experience with NEC contracts desired NOT essential.
  • Ability to work to a high standard and attention to detail.
  • Eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Full driving licence desired.
