Duties:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC Turning machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Working with Fixed Head (Doosan), Sliding Head (Star) and MillTurn (Star) CNC lathes (training can be provided if needed).
- Online programming, setting and operating with Fanuc controls (G codes).
- Reporting to the Production Manager.
- Using precision measuring equipment when required.
- Creating programs, setting up and operating CNC machines according to job requirements, including selecting appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Working from engineering / technical drawings.
- Producing batch runs of roughly hundreds to thousands off.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards are met and make adjustments as necessary.
- Proficient in programming, setting, and operating CNC Machines (either Milling or Turning as training on the specific CNC Machine tools can be trained).
- Experience with creating programs online from scratch, working from engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of online programming with Fanuc controls.
- Experience with offline programming is beneficial but not essential.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of Star MillTurn / Sliding Head machines is desirable, but not essential.
Hours of Work:
- 44 hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm.
- Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
- Hourly rate range: £18.00 to £21.00 per hour.
- Overtime available and paid at 1.25x hourly rate.
