We seek a dedicated Finance Director/ Head of Finance to oversee all aspects of financial management, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation on a part time basis for a charitable organisation in Reading.

Our client is a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation in Reading. Boasting a small-sized, collaborative team, this organisation is committed to serving the local community.

Description

Part time role, 3 days per week. Office based.

  • Managementor two staff members* Overall responsibility for the Finance, Marketing and Health & Safety functions.* Contribute to the strategic development of the organisation, including Businessplanning and budgeting.* Work with Governance Trustee to meet current legislation.* Responsibility for maintaining Risk Register with the Governance Trustee.
  • Financial Control* Oversight and governance of finance operations* Maintaining appropriate financial and operational controls, instituting necessary newor additional controls as per best practices, including periodic reporting oncontrol/risk assessment matters to Committee.* Overall responsibility for the production of the quarterly income reports * Overall responsibility for the production of the annual report and accounts.4% income check on endowment at beginning of Financial Year and submitproposal to ensure we meet our Grant requirements.1
  • Breakdown of fund development, working with CEO to confirm recurring incomeinformation is included into Budget.* Community First annual drawdown- discuss opportunity with CEO and Committee.* Produce monthly Dashboard for CEO.*GDPR Compliance.* Regularly updating Strategic plan for the Board.* Provide quarterly update to board.* Overseeing Monthly Payroll.*Reviewing changes in legislation for Finance function.*Lead quarterly committee meetings.*Ensure Financial assessments are completed by Finance team for each Grantapplication.

Profile

A successful Finance Director/ Head of Finance should have:

Essential:

  • Degree Educated
  • Fully Qualified Accountant ( ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Previous experience in the not-for-profit industry.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller/ Head of Finance/ Finance Director
  • Hands on approach to Finance
  • Live local to Reading, Berkshire ( the role requires 3 days per week in the office)
  • Parking is available
  • UK Right to Work
