Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Near Reading (commutable from surrounding areas)

We are a highly regarded fine-dining gastro pub known for exceptional food, impeccable service, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. With a focus on seasonal British produce, expertly curated drinks, and memorable guest experiences, were now looking for an outstanding General Manager to lead our front-of-house team and help take the business to the next level.

The Role

As General Manager, you will be the driving force behind the pubs day-to-day operations and long-term success. Youll lead by example, inspire your team, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality.

Closed Sunday PM, Monday and Tuesday

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing FOH team
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences with a personal touch
• Oversee staffing, rota management, recruitment, and training
• Manage financial performance including GP, labour, cost control, and budgeting
• Ensure smooth coordination between FOH and kitchen teams
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
• Support ongoing marketing, events, and local community engagement
• Uphold the brands reputation for quality and service excellence

Ideal Experience & Qualities

• Proven experience as a General Manager or senior FOH leader within premium fine dining, gastro pubs, or boutique hotels
• Passionate about food, wine, and exceptional service
• Strong understanding of financial controls and commercial performance
• Calm, confident, and solutions-focused
• A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced but quality-driven environment
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
