We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team responsible for maintaining and servicing plant found within a prestigious commercial building in the Reading. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the building.Key Responsibilities:
  • Working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks on various plant equipment, including but not limited to:
    • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems
    • Boilers and heating systems
    • Chillers and refrigeration units
    • Fire alarm and life safety systems
    • Plumbing and drainage systems
    • Fire Alarm Tests 
    • Water treatment – dipslides, pH & temperature testing, chlorination, chemical dosing
    • Water pressurization units
    • Chlorifiers – annual inspection, descaling
    • Steam Plant
    • Condensers, Condenser Returns
    • Cooling towers
    • Softeners
    • Humidifiers
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
  • Responding promptly to reactive maintenance requests and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Performing checks and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Identifying and reporting any faults or defects to the engineering team.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
  • Fully electrically mechanically qualified (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) in either mechanical engineering, plumbing or Air Conditioning.
  • Experienced working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at a commercial building 
  • Proven experience in maintaining and servicing plant equipment within a commercial environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels..
