Assembly Technician

The company are designing, making & testing products for predominantly F1.

  • Formula 1 is technically advanced, so the products must be well designed & of consistently high-quality.  Full training is provided for this role, but the right candidate will need:
    • Focus & concentration.
    • Experience & good competency in using workshop machines / tools & doing accurate processes.  
    • High focus on quality & repeatability.
    • Working from engineering drawings & instruction
    • Focus on keeping work area tidy & organised.

Specific Responsibilities

Primarily working within the assembly areas of workshop:

Creating hose-assemblies, using full range of hose-types & fittings-systems, swaging & crimping.

Assembling quick-disconnect (QD) couplings, valves & other company motorsport products.

Working collaboratively with the Lead Workshop Technicians & the Account Managers to ensure your assembly work fulfils customer & internal requirements.

Working within the other workshop areas as and when deemed necessary. Having a positive attitude to undertaking other workshop activities when needed is important.

Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with Company QA Procedures.

Training

Full training will be given for this role.

Overtime

Due to the distinctly seasonal nature of motor sport design & production requirements, there are corresponding periods of very high workload during the year.

For the workshop, the current highest workload period is mid-December to mid-March,

although the start/end of this period may change in the future.

During this period a reasonable level of overtime is expected as part of the role.

Skills & Experience

•    Must have engineering workshop experience involving accurate assembly.

•    Must be able to interrogate engineering drawings & workshop instructions.

•    Crucially also have the ability to solve problems, overcome irregularities where they arise in order to meet deliveries, i.e. ability & mindset to “think on your feet”.

•    Motor sport experience / interest is an advantage, but not essential.

General

Details below:

  • Working hours: All week days.  Summer = 8:15 to 5:00, 1/2hr lunch, ½ day Friday.  Winter = 8:30 to 5:00, 1hr lunch, all week, with some overtime expected.
  • Access to the bonus scheme.
  • Overtime is available & expected during our busiest periods.  X1.5 basic hourly rate (calculated from salary).
