A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in civil engineering or building to join a leading main contractor on a long term, secured programme of work in Berkshire. The Quantity Surveyor will be joining an established, well regarded name within the UK's main contracting sector and working for a business that promises an excellent work life balance, hybrid working, great career prospects and a generous salary & package.

The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the successful delivery of various projects across the site as well as building on the relationship with their client. Working closely with the Senior QS and Project Managers, they will be responsible for the overall commercial success on the project with involvement at each stage of the process - from procurement through to negotiation of final accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, record and value work undertaken by subcontractors
  • Prepare bill of quantities and Schedules of Rates from drawings and specifications
  • Plan the commercial activities to meet requirements
  • Manage the procurement process
  • Collate information relating to cost and value information
  • Take responsibility for the preparation and agreement of final accounts
  • Agree and resolve final accounts with all sub-contractors
  • Ensure compliance with commercial processes and systems
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to the wider project teams

Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK for a main contractor
  • In-depth knowledge of the NEC3 contract
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Lives within a reasonable commute of Reading
