Legal Secretary – Conveyancing Location: RedditchPart time or Full TimeSalary £22,000 - £25,000 DOEOur client is looking to recruit a Legal Assistant to work within their conveyancing team at their Redditch Office. Responsibilities include:Dealing with queries raised by clients, solicitors, lenders and estate agentsProvide client updates and monitor matter progressionOpening/closing files on the case management system, compliant with the firm’s AML and quality standards and SRA and CQS regulationsGeneral administrative tasksPrepare and submit quotes to clients and drafting completion statementsCheck mortgage offers and prepare reports with supervision. Experience of Leasehold transactionsTo be able to prepare apportionment statements for leasehold propertiesCarry out searches onlineChecking and reporting on searches with supervisionWorking towards checking freehold title and raising enquiries with supervisionUse Land Registry portal to submit registrations, replying to requisitions and ordering official copies, leases and title plansGenerate Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submit applicationsPreparing and submitting bills, receipts and payments to the finance team for fee earnersResponsible for the organisation, safe custodian and release of Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney’s, Probates and other associated legal documentsAttend to clients both in person and on the telephone in a manner in keeping with the firm’s high standard of client careOccasional reception coverRequirements for this role include:Preferably previous work experience as a conveyancing assistantSatisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal officeAdvanced computer literacy (word, excel, outlook)Working knowledge of case management softwareProficiency in EnglishExcellent administrative and organisational skillsAbility to juggle multiple activities and work under pressureExcellent attention to detailBasic understanding of the conveyancing processDetails:Attractive salary dependent on experiencePension schemeHoliday bonus schemeComprehensive training and development opportunities including support to study for professional qualificationsFirm funded eye tests
