The interim Lead Engineer will be responsible for the availability and development of plant and equipment across a fast paces manufacturing facility based in Redditch.

Our client is a globally recognised organisation within the building products manufacturing sector. The Redditch based operation is a small plant undergoing significant growth and investment.

Description

The Lead Engineer is a hands on role tasked with improving plant availability and developing maintenance systems across the site. The role will be responsible for another engineer reporting into the Operations Manager.

Day to day responsibility will include:

  • Identifying and resolving downtime issues across a range of plant and equipment.
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to prioritise and resolve significant issues.
  • Ensuring the safety and efficiency of all manufacturing processes.
  • Assisting with the development of a maintenance strategy as the site grows.
  • Acting as the point of contact for Engineering matters in Redditch.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Reporting to senior management on team performance and project progress.

Profile

The successful Lead Engineer should have:

  • A time served engineering qualification (ideally electrical bias)
  • Ideally proficient knowledge of drives
  • Exceptional knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards.
  • Demonstrable experience with reducing downtime.
