We are working with a highly-respected precision engineering company based in Redruth that produces machined components for markets that include aerospace, oil & gas, defence, marine and other commercial sectors.

The company is expanding towards a head-count of 50 staff and is presently seeking a skilled CNC programmer who is able to also use CAD/CAM software to create CNC programs and the supporting documentation for setting. The successful applicant can look forward to joining a highly-skilled engineering team and will be responsible for the technical engineering requirements. Whilst you will be reporting to the Lead Engineer, the role carries a level of autonomy which encourages personal development ownership and task ownership.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating CNC programs and accompanying documentation
  • Creating processes and defining their parameters
  • Ensuring full compliance with AS9100 business management system
  • Inputting the production schedule
  • Management of the Production Engineering elements to ensure the schedule can be met
  • Bringing the technical element to the Route Cause Analysis events
  • Working alongside the Quality Team to ensure quality processes are in place and performing
  • Outlining the technical aspects of quotations
  • New Product introduction

The ideal applicant would:

  • Have experience of using CAD/CAM to produce CNC tool programs
  • Have sound knowledge of turning/milling metal processes
  • Be keen to manage projects and determine appropriate production methods and strategies
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, innovative and supportive environment
  • Have the choice of working either a 4 or 5-day week (40 hours)
