Miners Court is Coastline’s extra care living facility in Redruth, providing an integrated care and support service that promotes independence for all our customers. As a Extra Care & Support Assistant you will work with our customers to flexibly to meet their individual needs, in accordance with their care and support plans.Â
We have two roles available with different hours and shift patterns.Â
37 hour permanent fixed rota contract:Â
Week 1: Sat 1pm-10.30pm, Sun 1pm-10.30pm, Wed 7.30am-5pm, Thurs 2pm-10.30pm, Fri 1pm-10.30pmÂ
Week 2: Mon 4pm-10.30pm, Tues 1pm-10.30pm, Thurs 7.30am-1.30pm, Fri 1pm-10.30pmÂ
30 hour permanent flexi contract:Â
Rota agreed 1 month in advance to include a variety of shifts, evenings, weekends and night shifts, full flexibility required.Â
Day to day you will:Â
- Assist customers with all aspects of daily living and personal care including undressing, bathing and showering, and dental and mouth care; toileting, feeding, dressing and moving individuals according to agreed manual handling techniques (using the equipment/aids provided in the trained and agreed manner).Â
- Support customers with cleaning, cooking, shopping and attending appointments as required.Â
- Administer medication as appropriate and accurately record this as instructed.Â
- Maintain accurate records of daily occurrences relating to the wellbeing of customers.Â
- Complete and regularly updating care and support plans with customersÂ
What we're looking for:Â
- You will be a kind, caring person who is understanding and patient.Â
- You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be willing to get stuck in with any challenge.Â
- You will be a fantastic listener and have excellent communication skills.Â
- You will possess or be willing to work towards a level 2/3 in Health & Social Care.Â
- You will be able to remain calm under pressure and in an emergency, with the ability to act decisively.Â
- Ideally you will have experience in the care and support sector, but full training will be provided.Â
- A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.Â
