Autism Support Worker

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a special school in Camberley who are requiring an autism support worker to support students.

This role will be working with learners with a diagnosis of Autism. This is a fantastic school which puts the learners at the forefront of everything they do.

The schools key strengths include their vision and values, which shape their daily practice; their curriculum, which ensures all pupils learn the right things at the right time; their model of social inclusion, which supports pupils to develop strong interpersonal relationships; the staff team, who are utterly committed to the pupils they support.

The Role:

  • Working with a small class of children to support their time in education

  • Be able to adapt to the needs of the child in lessons and assist them in their school day

  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage the children to stay on task

  • Clarifying and explaining any questions or instructions given to the pupil

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people with learning difficulties

  • Experience in a SEN education setting is ideal

  • Team Teach training is desirable but is something that Engage can provide you with

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to take one out
