Are you an electrical design engineer, seeking a senior role, for a hyper-growth SME which has doubled in size in the last 18 months, where you will play a crucial role in their ongoing success, working on a range of highly technical, cutting edge projects for the design and manufacture of specialist power and monitoring systems with sophisticated controls?

Do you have a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, looking to work on landmark projects for highly reputable clients, for a specialist, forward thinking organisation, which provides innovative and sustainable solutions across marine and off grid markets, where you will add direct value, as you look to create, develop and improve complex hybrid systems, working as part of a highly skilled team to deliver technically advanced solutions

The company provide hybrid power and monitoring systems with sophisticated control, which combine renewable energy sources with traditional power sources, enabling reduced emissions and improved energy efficiency. They develop cutting-edge technologies to provide the latest solutions for applications in marine, off grid and specialist vehicles, supplying to a diverse range of reputable clients.

You will be responsible for creating, improving and developing complex hybrid power systems, working on a rolling range of complex projects, varying in size. You will work throughout the course of the project, designing the control systems, creating BOM's, problem solving and completing some testing activities. You will work closely with mechanical and control systems engineers to deliver advanced solutions, with the opportunity for occasional travel to clients in the UK and abroad (Europe) to troubleshoot existing, and commission new systems

The role:

  • Take on technical responsibility for larger hybrid projects, working on land and marine based systems, typically focused around Danfoss drive technology
  • Work on a range of projects - varying in length from a few days, up to 12 months
  • Add value throughout the process, from initial enquiry, through design, creation of BOM's, various design stages and final manufacture and testing
  • Design of electrical control panels and switchgear
  • Design using EPlan and AutoCAD
  • Work on continuous improvements in terms of processes, materials selection and technology
  • Setup and commissioning of complex systems, working alongside control engineers and similar
  • Some travel to client sites in the UK and occasionally abroad to troubleshoot systems

The person:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or similar
  • Experience in electrical design
  • Eplan experience desirable
